A former high school teacher of Labasa has been sentenced to 11 years for two counts of rape.
He raped a student in Suva in 2016.
While sentencing the man, Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge says the man was the Agriculture teacher of the girl.
Justice Aluthge says the man used to ask the victim to write love letters as part of her assignment.
It was also heard in court that the man made a sex video.
A non-parole period of 8 years has been set.
