Brumbies flanker Pete Samu will not feature for his team when they face the Jaguares in the first semifinal of the Super Rugby competition this week.

Samu suffered a hamstring strain during their quarterfinal clash against the Sharks last Saturday.

Samu has been impressive for the Brumbies throughout the season as a replacement for David Pocock.

He scored twice for the Brumbies in their quarterfinal match which helped the Brumbies to secure their first ever semifinal since 2015.

Brumbies Coach Dan McKellar says Samu has played such a big role in getting them to where they are today and he deserves to be playing in the semifinals this week.

The Brumbies will take on the Jaguares at 11.05am Saturday while the Crusaders will face the Hurricanes at 7.35pm Saturday.
