The Fiji soccer team’s chances of winning the gold medal at the Pacific Games have been boosted with top striker Roy Krishna joining the training camp yesterday.
The Fiji soccer team last won the gold medal in 2003 in Fiji.
Krishna who recently signed to play in the Indian Super League will also be Fiji’s flag-bearer at the Pacific Games.
Krishna had finished the A-League season as the highest goal scorer and had also won the Player of the Season award.
Other top players that are likely to be included in the Fiji Soccer team Samuela Drudru, Zibraaz Sahib, Simione Tamanisau, Kishan Sami, Dave Radrigai, Kavaia Rawaqa and Christopher Wasasala.
The Bula Boys will battle New Caledonia, Tahiti, the Solomon Islands, American Samoa and Tuvalu in Group B.
The Pacific Games starts on the 7th of next month.
