A man who stole assorted items worth $6,469 from a house in Nabua in January this year has been given a suspended sentence by Suva High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza.

Michael Bhan pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary.

He broke into the house and stole the assorted items at 3 o’clock in the morning as the homeowners slept.

Bhan was one of the suspects arrested during the investigations carried out by Police and he admitted to carrying out the offence during the caution interview.

In his sentence, Justice Hamza said the chances of rehabilitation was high and deemed it appropriate to suspend the sentence for a period of 3 years.

Bhan has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment and it has been suspended for 3 years.
