All Blacks stand‑in captain Sam Cane has been mightily impressed with the new charges poised for test debuts as the All Blacks prepare for an intriguing contest in Argentina.
In Kieran Read's absence, Cane will skipper the All Blacks for a third time as their 2019 season gets underway with their Rugby Championship opener against the Pumas in Buenos Aires tomorrow.
Cane says he has been really impressed with the way the new players trained this week and it's exciting for them to get an opportunity.
Argentina have never beaten the All Blacks – the closest they came was a 21‑21 draw in 1985 – and the Buenos Aires test is the first of five games Hansen's team will play before their World Cup defence begins against South Africa in Yokohama on September 21.
The All Blacks play Argentina at 6.05am tomorrow while the Wallabies take on Springboks at 3.05am tomorrow.
