Suva prop Eroni Mawi will get his first start for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians against Japan in the opening match of the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.
Mawi has impressed selectors since being chosen to be part of the extended squad.
Flying Fijians Coach John McKee says Mawi deserves to be selected in the starting line-up.
McKee says Mawi has been drafted for a number of test matches as an impact player but this will be his opportunity to showcase what he can do on the field.
He says they expect a fast pace game from the Brave Blossoms so they need to work very hard in their defensive system and make every effort to deny the Japanese the opportunities to score.
Some notable players are not included in the team due to injuries are Semi Radradra, Vereniki Goneva and Josua Tuisova.
Fiji will take on Japan at 5.50pm tomorrow.
