Nasinu Soccer coach Tagi Vonolagi says their plan to shut down Nadi’s midfield was key in their victory.

He says that they were expecting Nadi to play long  balls to Rusiate Matarerega and their plan was always to shut down the forward.

The former national team goalkeeper rues the missed goal scoring opportunities in the first half but was delighted with the final result.

Vonolagi also praised goalkeeper, Josaia Ratu whose penalty save in the second was instrumental in the victory.

He also says that he is hoping for hosts Lautoka to do them a favor by not letting Rewa get a win in their match.

Nasinu has not made the semifinals in any of Fiji’s major tournaments in 14 years.
