President Jioji Konrote has launched the first-ever Fiji National Rugby League Women’s team name and logo the “FIJI BULIKULA” last night.
Speaking at the event, Konrote says that by launching the Fiji Bulikula logo is a history in the making for the countries sporting legacy.
The Fiji National Rugby League Women’s team played their first-ever international test match with PNG Orchids and won that game by 23 to nil.
BULIKULA, is the itaukei name for a rare type of golden cowrie that traditionally signifies chiefly status and the adoption of the name has sentimental meaning for Fiji National Rugby League.
The Bulikula team will participate in the Prime Miniter’s XIII (13) rugby league tournament on the 11th of October at the ANZ Stadium.
