A 23-year-old man has passed away following a road accident in Sigatoka this morning.

Police say the accident occurred near Vatukarasa Village after 4 o'clock this morning after the man allegedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road.

He was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The road death toll currently stands at 40 compared to 58 for the same period last year.
