Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has urged Newtown Rugby Club players not to underestimate the strength of being recognized with awards as it can be an extra boost to a young rugby players dream.

Bainimarama stated this at the Newtown Rugby Club Awards ceremony at the Vineyard Restaurant last night.

He says this awards night celebrates the achievement of young rugby players in a season where Newtown Rugby Club successfully defended the Ram Sami Nasinu Shield in seven weeks of competition.

He adds Newtown being an area where some of the great rugby players have come from such as Olympic Gold Medalist, Jerry Tuwai, consistency is needed to take the club a long way.

Bainimarama says the achievement of Tuwai in the World Rugby Seven Series should serve as an inspiration to players.
He also stated that the legacy of the Newtown Rugby Club has been impressive and is not only known in the Central Divison but throughout the country.
