Wallabies centre Samu Kerevi has paid tribute to former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika in an emotional post on Instagram.
Kerevi thanked Cheika for being the coach who opened his mind and heart to why he loves rugby.
The 26-year-old says he will be forever grateful to Cheika for believing in him.
Kerevi says a lot has been said already, but he wanted to thank Cheika for giving him the opportunity to represent Australia.
With Australia’s exit from the Rugby World Cup, Kerevi’s time in the Wallabies jersey is over for now as he heads to Japan to play with Top League side Suntory.
Kerevi has signed a three-year deal with the Japanese Top League.
Under Australia’s current eligibility laws, Kerevi will not be able to play Tests during that time but could return to Australia before the 2023 Rugby World Cup, before his 30th birthday.
The All Blacks will face England at 8pm this Saturday in the first semifinal while Wales will take on South Africa at 9pm this Sunday in the second semifinal.
