Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa has been suspended by French club Racing 92 after returning from the Rugby World Cup two weeks late.
Nakarawa was not permitted an extended leave of absence and has now been struck off the Racing playing roster ahead of their Champions Cup campaign against defending champions Saracens.
In a brief statement published on the club's website, Racing 92 said it has provisionally laid off Leone Nakarawa and summoned him to an interview before a possible sanction.
The club says it will make no further comments about this decision.
Nakarawa who is now 31-years-old featured in all of Fiji's pool games in the Rugby World Cup.
He was expected to be back with his club in France on October 28th but only arrived back this week.
Last year, Nakarawa was awarded the European Professional Rugby Player of the Year.
He is generally considered to be one of the best locks in the world and is most famous for his offloading skills, athleticism and general play in open field.
Nakarawa helped the Fiji 7s team win gold in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Racing 92 will hold a hearing on November 22nd for Nakarawa.
