Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says Leader of the Opposition, Sitiveni Rabuka and members of the opposition have continued to berate President Jioji Konrote since Monday however the opposition has not provided viable alternatives that will make the country better.

While speaking in parliament, Sayed-Khaiyum says Rabuka’s unbecoming actions also continue.

Sayed-Khaiyum says National Federation Party MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua has talked about the government borrowing money from  FNPF. He says FNPF has been lending money to all governments including the Ratu Mara, Rabuka, Chaudhry, Qarase, Bainimarama and FijiFirst governments.

The Attorney General says the Fund needs to lend money or invest and get more returns which will mean more returns for all FNPF members. Sayed-Khaiyum says today we have the highest returns of FNPF.

He also stresses that FNPF is lending to the government at market rates. Sayed-Khaiyum says it is always better to have more on-shore debts as you would be vulnerable to foreign currency fluctuations for off-shore debts.

The Attorney General says the new A350 Fiji Airways plane will land on Saturday with many Fijians including Fijian rugby players based in France proud of this new plane. He says there are a lot of positives as we can have more visitor arrivals despite negative comments made by SODELPA MP, Simione Rasova in the social media with a vulgar emoji.

Sayed-Khaiyum says SODLEPA MP, Viliame Gavoka’s entire statement was almost replete of ethnic analysis. He says you cannot run a modern nation state on the basis of ethnic division. 

Sayed-Khaiyum raised the question on whether your level of sympathy and sensitivity should be based on who the victim is and their ethnic group. He says it should be based on their need and you helping them.

He also says all the SODELPA parliamentarians took an oath to uphold the constitution but they are now berating the constitution.

Sayed-Khaiyum says these MP's should not have sworn a false oath, should not have contested the general elections and should not have been in parliament.
