Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen says the first flight for the new A350 extra wide-body Airbus “Island of Viti Levu” will be on 1st December.

Viljoen says once the second A350 Airbus will be delivered on 1st December then from the first of January, the Fiji Airways A350 Airbus will fly daily from Nadi to Los Angeles and Nadi to Sydney.

He says from 1st December the Fiji Airways A350 Airbus will start flying from Sydney to Nadi and some of the other Australian ports 

He says this is a very proud moment for Fiji and every Fijian should be proud of this achievement.

He says some of the features that make up the technologically advanced aircraft are its high performance, with its latest generation Rolls Royce XWB engine, the A350 aircraft can fly 30 minutes faster from Nadi to Los Angeles when compared to the current A330’s.

Viljoen says the A350 Airbus can carry 20 tonnes more cargo from Nadi to Los Angeles and its flying range is greater from 10 hours to 16-17 hours.
