Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team has qualified to the cup semifinals after defeating Ireland 31-12 in the third cup quarterfinal of the Cape Town 7s.

Ireland started off the quarterfinal by putting pressure on Fiji and scoring the first try from Jordan Conroy.

Fiji bounced back with two tries from Napolioni Bolaca and Aminiasi Tuimaba.

Fiji led Ireland 14-7 at half-time.

Ireland’s scored the first try in the second half from Terry Kennedy closing the gap to 14-12.

Fiji replied with two tries from Waisea Nacuqu and Alasio Naduva closes the match with a try.

In other cup quarterfinal results, South Africa defeated Kenya 17-5 in the first quarterfinal and France defeated Argentina 19-10 in the second quarterfinal.

Fiji will face New Zealand or Scotland at 2.01am tomorrow in the second cup semifinal while South Africa will play France at 1.39am tomorrow in the first cup semifinal.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s Team lost to Australia 38-7 in the women’s cup quarterfinals.
