The special guests to witness the arrival of the second A350 for Fiji Airways at Nadi International Airport were children from various Homes and Special Schools around Nadi and Lautoka.

The children were overjoyed to witness the arrival of the plane and were then given gifts and treated to a special Christmas party by Fiji Airways.

The new A350 arrived with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama onboard the flight from Los Angeles.

While speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Executive General Manager for Fiji Link and Group Corporate, International and Government Affairs Shaenaz Voss says Fiji is ready to deploy the two A350s to Sydney and Los Angeles everyday and lift its game to offer their customers an onboard experience unlike anything before.

Voss says next year Fiji Airways will institute an onboard programme which will remove nearly two tonnes of plastic from the aircrafts annually and save half a million litres of water every year by moving to more environmentally friendly onboard products.

She says Fiji Airways has planted 27,000 tress in the past two years and majority of them were mangrove trees which were planted in Nasese and Saweni Beach in Lautoka.
