A former Customer Service Officer at the Land Transport Authority appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today on four different cases of alleged corruption.

In the first case, FICAC charged Setareki Vakayadra with two counts of Bribery.

It is alleged that he asked for an advantage of $800 from an individual and is further alleged to have accepted $400 from the same person in March 2017.

In the second case, Vakayadra is also charged with two counts of Bribery where he is alleged to have asked for and accepted $200 from an individual in April 2017.

In the third case, he is facing a count each of Forgery and Using Forged Document. Vakayadra is alleged to have created a false document in the form of a letter using the LTA letterhead to be submitted to the Fiji National Provident Fund as a supporting letter for his Unemployment Application to obtain $365.

In the fourth case, Vakayadra is charged with a count of General Dishonesty, Obtaining a Gain for allegedly stealing revenue collected from Traffic Infringements Penalty and Driver License renewal to LTA amounting to $661.15 in October 2017.

All the cases have been adjourned to 4th February next year.
