A famous local boxer charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm has been further remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.
The alleged incident occurred on the 22nd of this month in Suva.
Prosecution objected to bail saying the complainant was pregnant at the time of the alleged incident.
The defence told the court that although the couple were legally married, they were not living together adding the boxer had moved on and had a girlfriend who resides overseas.
The court was informed that the 25 year old boxer had gone to pick his girlfriend from the Airport and they had posted pictures of them together on social media.
Suva Magistrate, Joseph Daurewa then told the defence lawyer that he does want to hear those details.
Magistrate Daurewa told the defence they will need to file a formal application for bail.
The case will be called for mention on the 13th of next month.
