The Clinic and Shelter Manager of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Shaneel Narayan is urging pig hunters to stop stealing people's pet dogs and abusing them.

He says if caught, these people will be handed over to relevant authorities.

Narayan says he has noticed that these pig hunters starve dogs thinking they will be better hunters or cut their ears for better listening however, none of these are true.

Narayan says they rescued two dogs last year.

He says these dogs were found and brought in by concerned people who witnessed the cruelty these animals faced as pig hunting dogs.

Narayan adds that this practice is common in the Western Division.
