A repetition of the Cape Town 7s was again seen in the New Zealand 7s as both New Zealand’s Men and Women’s team won their respective category in the Hamilton 7s.

New Zealand Men’s team have been crowned the new Hamilton 7s after defeating France 27-5 in the final.

Regan Ware scored twice for the All Blacks 7s team while Scott Curry had a hat-trick.

Tavite Veredamu scored the only try for the French team.

New Zealand led France 12-5 at half-time.

In other results in the Men’s competition, Australia defeated England 33-21 in the third place play-off, Canada thumped USA 28-7 in the fifth place play-off while Argentina defeated Kenya 19-17 in the 7th place play-off.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s final, the Black Ferns thumped Canada 24-7.

Michaela Blyde scored twice for New Zealand while Niall Williams and Stacey Fluhler scored a try each.

The New Zealand Men’s team now leads the Men’s series with 63 points while the Black Ferns leads the Women’s series with 76 points.
