Christopher Wasasala was the hero as the Suva soccer team started their Vodafone Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Pillay Garments Champion Versus Champion series winner Labasa at Subrail Park.
Labasa scored first through Antonio Tuivuna while Wasasala equalized just before halftime.
Wasasala scored Suva’s winning goal in the second half.
He says he knew Labasa was going to come hard in their first match but he had confidence in his young team.
Meanwhile, three matches will kick off at 3pm tomorrow.
Defending champions, Ba will take on Rewa at Ratu Cakobau Park, Lautoka will play Nasinu at Churchill Park while Navua will face Nadi at the Uprising Ground in Pacific Harbour.
