A 52-year-old man has been sentenced to 2 years and 8 months imprisonment by High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza for wounding his ex-wife and stepson in September 2018.
The man used his security guard baton to strike the ex-wife on the head several times and did the same to the stepson when he came to assist the woman and stop the fight.
The man was then arrested by police moments after the incident.
As a result of the incident, the woman sustained multiple traumatic injuries to her head while the stepson sustained swelling on his head and hand.
The man pleaded guilty to two counts of an act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
A non-parole period of 2 years imprisonment has been set.
