A 30-year-old man has been charged and will be produced in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today for allegedly stealing a vehicle while a 17-year-old youth was also taken in for questioning by police for a similar offence in Nadi.
Police say the 30-year-old man allegedly stole a taxi last Friday when the driver of the taxi had stopped to buy a bottle of juice at a service station in Namadi without allegedly locking his car.
Police say when he returned he found his car missing.
The car was later found abandoned in Tovata.
In the second case, a 17 year old youth from Nawaka, Nadi was taken in for questioning for a similar offence yesterday morning.
The suspect allegedly stole the vehicle which was parked at the Nadi Hospital, whereby the 30 year old owner is alleged to have not locked his car while he had gone inside the Hospital.
The vehicle was later found at Votualevu.
Investigations continue.
