Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s captain Meli Derenalagi says it has been a time for personal reflection for the players during the suspension of sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While speaking at a Fiji Rugby Union’s sponsor, Taki Mai’s launch, Derenalagi says this has been a perfect opportunity to evaluate their performance along with focusing on their individual training.
He says it will be a happy moment when he finally gets to join the other players if the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
He says zoom meetings with Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber has benefitted the team.
The 2019/2020 HSBC 7s Series is expected to resume in September with the London and Paris 7s while the Singapore and Hong Kong 7s are expected to be held in October.
