The Penrith Panthers have extended their lead in the NRL standings with 14 points after defeating the Newcastle Knights 24-6 last night.

The Panthers dominated throughout the match scoring four tries from Stephen Crichton, Matt Burton, Dylan Edwards and Brian To'o.

A brilliant return from injury from fullback Dylan Edwards was also key for the Panthers as he ran for 269 metres, busted seven tackles and scored the 67th-minute try that cracked the Knights open after some resilient defence that held an impressive Panthers attack at bay for long periods.

Meanwhile, the Titans will take on the Rabbitohs at 8 tonight and the Eels will face the Broncos at 9.55 tonight.
