Scotland's first match at the UEFA EURO 2020 ended in anguish after Patrik Schick's incredible halfway-line goal helped the Czech Republic to a 2-0 victory.

Schick's goal punctured a carnival atmosphere with a sharp dose of reality for Steve Clarke's side.

Scotland will now go to Wembley on Friday with a heightened need for a positive result against England before their group campaign comes to a close against Croatia in Glasgow four days later.

Meanwhile, Slovakia beat Poland 2-1 while Spain will face Sweden at 7 this morning.
