There are reports that Lionel Messi has agreed to a two-year deal to join Paris St-Germain following his shock exit from Barcelona.

BBC Sports reports a PSG news conference will take place today where the announcement will be made.

According to BBC Sports, the deal which has the option of a third year, is subject to a medical.

The Argentina captain who is now 34 left Barca - the only club he has played for - as they could not afford a new deal under La Liga's financial fair play rules.

It is believed that Messi will earn around $72 million a year after tax, plus bonuses.

Considered by many as the greatest player of all time, Messi scored a record 672 goals in 778 games for Barcelona.

He won the Ballon d'Or a record six times and lifted 35 trophies with the Spanish club.

Messi will now play in a front three alongside the two most expensive players of all time in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
