Seventeen national sporting organisations have met all requirements for the resumption of only non-contact sports and training from Monday 4th October under the framework put in place by the National Sports Commission.
They are Tennis, Taekwondo, Cricket, Touch Rugby, Netball, Rugby Union, Outrigger (VAA), Suva Marathon, Billiard & Snooker, Lawn Bowls, Golf Fiji, Squash, Karate, Badminton, Archery, Shooting and Football.
The National Sports Commission confirms that after approval of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, certificates have been given to these sporting organisations.
It says their sports medical specialist technical working group is providing guidance on the resumption of sports and recreational activity framework.
They are working with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Tourism and Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission which will be inspecting venues at their own discretion.
The National Sports Commission says everyone must have the CareFiji app on at all training sessions and have their vaccination cards when they are asked to present them.
It has also been stressed that people will be required to be fully vaccinated to enter sporting venues.
