The Suva Retailers Association says there is an increase in sales this year compared to the same period last year.
President, Jitesh Patel says this is due to the $360 government’s unemployment assistance, Diwali and opening of schools for Years 12 and 13.
He adds many people have been buying school products, firecrackers, decorations, clothes and decoration lights.
