A 36-year-old man from Lomaiviti aims to purchase a piece of land and build his house when he returns from Australia.
Malakai Mira from Tovulailai Village in Nairai in Lomaiviti will be leaving for Australia in a few weeks after being selected under the Pacific Labour Scheme.
He says it has always been his dream to own a piece of land and build his own house.
The Nairai villager says he heard about the seasonal worker program from his brother, who asked him to put his application to work in Australia.
He says one reason why he is going overseas is to earn enough money to support his family.
