The Vodafone Fiji Bati went down 42-8 to the Kangaroos in their first match at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup this morning.
The Bati started well as Semi Valemei crossed over for Fiji’s first try in the third minute of the first half.

The Kangaroos responded with tries to Jeremiah Nanai, Josh Addo-Carr, and Angus Crichton to give them an 18-4 lead at the break.

The Kangaroos showed their class in the second half with tries from Latrell Mitchell, Harry Grant, James Tedesco, and Addo-Carr.
Sunia Turuva scored Fiji’s second try with 5 minutes left to play.
The Bati’s next match is against Italy at 1.30am next Sunday.
In other results, England demolished Samoa 60-6.
