FijiFirst Party Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama and General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum were questioned and released from the CID Headquarters last night, and they will be questioned again today.

Sayed-Khaiyum came into the headquarters in Toorak at about 3pm yesterday while Bainimarama arrived at about 3.30pm.

While leaving the CID office at around 8pm, Bainimarama said they will be questioned today.

FijiFirst supporters gathered outside the CID Headquarters and cheered when Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum came out of the office.

Some of the people waiting outside were Semi Koroilavesau, Viliame Naupoto, Faiyaz Koya, Joseph Nand, Viam Pillay, Ketan Lal, Rinesh Sharma, FijiFirst member, Ridhi Damodar and Vatis Director, Arnold Chanel.

Police confirmed Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum are being questioned for alleged abuse of office.

Chief of Intelligence, Investigations and Prosecutions, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci says Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum are both being questioned by CID for allegations of abuse of office.

This is regarding a separate report lodged earlier.
