The Water Authority of Fiji operations teams are carrying out flushing works to progressively restore water supply to Fijians experiencing disruptions in the Suva-Nausori corridor.

WAF Chief Operating Officer, Seru Soderberg says they are starting to slowly recover water levels to their main distribution system supplied through the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant.

He says raw water inflow into the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant is increasingly susceptible to climate variability.

He also says the flow had dropped due to falling river levels over the past few days and has now improved.

This has improved the Tamavua Reservoir levels.

He hopes that with most reservoirs at desired levels, they can meet this morning's peak demand.

The areas that were affected include Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu residents next to Reservoir, Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji Street, Tacirua Bus, Amputch Street, Princes Road, Dokanaisuva - Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement.

Soderberg also says the planned works for the Waila Treatment Plant from 5pm to 8pm today will only affect those supplied by the Waila Treatment Plant.

The Waila Treatment Plant supplies water to about 60 percent of the population in Suva.

He says repair works at Waila on the burst main that disrupted customers from Waila Water Treatment Plant Road to Navuso was also completed, and supply was restored to these customers.
