Expect strong winds, heavy rain and flooding as Category 2 Tropical Cyclone Rae continues to track further into the Fiji waters.
The centre of Cyclone Rae is located 50km West of Vanuabalavu or about 75km Southeast of Taveuni.
It is moving in a South-Southwest direction at about 15km/hr towards the Southern Lau group.
Cyclone Rae has maximum winds of 95 kilometres per hour gusting to 155 kilometres per hour by tonight into tomorrow morning.
The centre of Rae is expected to pass just west of Lakeba this afternoon and just west of Ono-I-Lau early tomorrow morning.
Rae is expected to exit the Fiji waters tomorrow morning.
A Storm Warning remains in force for Vanuabalavu, Tuvuca, Lakeba, Moce, Cicia, Nayau, Mago, Yacata, Katafaga, Oneata, Vatoa, Fulaga, Nairai, Gau, and Moala Group.
A Gale Warning remains in force for the eastern parts of Vanua Levu [Cakaudrove Province, Eastern Macuata and Southern Bua], Cikobia, Naqele Levu, Taveuni, Koro, Ovalau and Ono I Lau.
A Strong Wind Warning remains in force for the rest of Vanua Levu, Northeastern parts of Viti Levu [from Tailevu North through Ra-Rakiraki up to Tavua], Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji Group.
A Flash Flood Warning remains in force for all small streams and low lying flash flood prone areas of Vanua Levu.
A Flash Flood Alert remains in force for all small streams and low lying flash flood prone areas of Viti Levu.
Expect localised flooding of susceptible communities, business and low lying areas, localised flooding of minor roads, Irish crossings and bridges with some disruption to traffic flow.
Severe flooding of major rivers could flood towns and properties.
Expect poor visibility for drivers and mariners.
Based on the wind speeds, there could be significant structural damage to houses of unshielded and very light structures in exposed communities.
There can be possible disruption in the communication network and power supply due to damaged power lines.
Trees or plants and crops can get damaged.
There can also be localised disruption of essential services.
