Thaddeus Kwong and Eden Waqainabete put in incredible performances in the 100 metres Backstroke event at the World Aquatics Junior Championships in Otopeni, Romania last night.

Fiji Swimming says Kwong delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a personal best of 1 minute and 2.44 seconds.

They say this remarkable time broke the 15–16 Fiji Aquatics Age Group Record.

Fiji Swimming says Waqainabete also made her mark, winning her heat with a season's best time of 1 minute 9.69 seconds.

Jonalese Vatubua will be competing first in the Women’s 100m Freestyle later today, before the whole team takes part in the - Mixed 4 x 100 metres Medley Relay where Waqainabete will take the Backstroke portion, Kwong the Breaststroke, Reuben Taylor the Butterfly and Jonalese Vatubua in the Freestyle.
