Shalom Christian Centre confirms that Pastor Kartik Naidu, who made derogatory remarks about Hindu and Muslim festivals, was a guest speaker during their Saturday service.
The church clarified that Pastor Naidu does not represent Shalom Christian Centre but is affiliated with the Central Revival Centre in Samabula.
Speaking to fijivillage News, representative from Shalom Christian Centre said that Pastor Naidu was invited for a combined service, and they were unaware of what he planned to preach until the service unfolded.
Efforts to contact the Central Revival Centre have been unsuccessful, as calls to the church went unanswered.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that the CID is investigating the matter, while Internal Affairs is also conducting an investigation into the officer’s conduct.
Naidu is also a Police officer.
The largest Hindu organisation in Fiji, Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji has formally lodged a complaint with the CID regarding Pastor Naidu’s comments.
