The Commander of the RFMF is entitled to his own opinion.
This is the view of SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai who adds that the SDL would always adhere to the law and says that each person has the freedom to stand for an election.
These comments come after the Interim Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama said in an interview with Legend FM News today that Laisenia Qarase should stop calling for elections to be held as soon as possible as the military council believes that Qarase and the ousted SDL ministers should never be part of any government.
Bainimarama says Fiji will only have elections when the interim government sets out proper policies and meets the requirements of the President's mandate.
Meanwhile Laisenia Qarase says the interim government agreeing in principle to have elections by March 2009 is not good enough.
Although Qarase says he is willing to speak to Bainimarama, he will not support the interim government's proposed People's Charter.
