A 37 year old father who is charged with allegedly indecently assaulting his adopted daughter has blamed the ghost for his actions.
It was heard in court today that the Suva man allegedly indecently assaulted his adopted daughter on the 3rd of this month.
Police Prosecutor Sergeant Leone Lautabui said this was the second occasion when the girl was allegedly indecently assaulted. She was first allegedly assaulted in 2005 when the complainant was only 14 years old.
When the man's wife confronted him earlier this month, he blamed the ghost for his actions.
The plea has been deferred and prosecution has objected to bail due to the seriousness of the offence and the safety of the victim.
The 37 year old man has been remanded in custody until the 31st of this month.
