The Reds moved to the top of the overall standings in the Super 15 rugby competition, courtesy of a 37 31 win over the Blues last night.
Two of the competition's more entertaining franchises did not disappoint as 68 points were scored, with both outfits claiming try bonus points.
Meanwhile, the Highlanders kept their Super Rugby play off hopes alive thanks to a 13-6 win over the Hurricanes.
The only try of the match came from a back line player, thanks to a chip over the top from Highlanders halfback Jimmy Cowan that was chased by full back Ben Smith who dotted down to continue his fine form this year.
In tonight's matches, Chiefs will take on Stormers at 7.35 and Brumbies play Lions at 9.40pm.
