More needs to be done to sustain the forests that we have and steps should be taken now to stop illegal logging and deforestation.
That’s the call from students of Saint Thomas High School in Lautoka who will be performing in next Thursday’s Tadra Kahani with Connect.
Student rep, Esther Trill said while the government successfully accomplished its one million tree planting campaign, more awareness is needed.
Responding to the call by Saint Thomas High School, Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forest Commander Villiame Naupoto said he agreed with the students and the government is taking the necessary steps.
The 2011 Tadra Kahani with connect will be held at 6.30pm next Thursday at the Vodafone Arena.
