A much needed assistance in the form of $179,000 worth of fresh flush toilet facilities have been given to Nanoko village in Ba by the Australian government.
40 typhoid cases have been confirmed in the area which is possibly linked to the water source which is a river and the need to improve toilet facilities according to the Ministry of Health.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Peni Namotu said police have increased their presence in monitoring the public health emergency that is in place to restrict the increase of typhoid cases.
He added food items and bills are being done by health officials on their behalf as movement is being restricted.
