The latest weather report from the Nadi weather office at 3.30pm said the first tropical depression to the south of Fiji is moving east southeast and expected to lie to the southeast of the country later tomorrow.

Associated active trough of low pressure with active rain bands over Fiji is expected to move to the east of the group by Tuesday.

For second tropical depression that was situated to the west of Vanuatu has now turned into a Tropical Cyclone.

Tropical Cyclone Jasmine is slowly moving East and its indirect effects are expected to be felt by Western parts of Fiji by Wednesday.
 
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group.

Strong northwest winds with average speeds of 45km/hr and momentary gusts to 80km/hr.

Winds turning south to southwest and decreasing to moderate to fresh later tomorrow.

Today, periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms over most places and flooding of low lying areas.

Meanwhile looking at some parts of Fiji.

Heavy rain and strong gusty winds are being experienced in Rakiraki this hour.

This morning two families were forced to move to higher ground in Nadovi due to flooding of their homes.

Rakiraki town is cordoned off at the moment and this is being done as a precautionary measure.
 
Rakiraki administration officials are warning residents to move to higher ground if they have not done so as they are expecting the current rain to cause some flooding.

In Tavua strong winds have died with light to occasional heavy showers being experienced there with water and power disruptions affecting some residential areas.

The Tavua Community Hall that is being used as an evacuation centre currently has 36 adults and 27 children taking shelter there.

Places currently flooded are the Yaladro flat, Nabuna village with the Nasomo Bridge still underwater.

In Ba, occasional slight rain continues and strong winds have also died.

However, more rain is expected in the evening.

The weather situation Lautoka, Nadi and Sigatoka are similar to Ba.

Meanwhile, fallen trees have blocked some roads in Kadavu due to the strong winds currently being experienced on the island.

Vunisea Police Station confirmed that they could not complete their rounds of inspection as some roads were inaccessible.

Meanwhile students boarding at Vunisea Secondary School have been centralized to their dining hall for safety reasons as they face adverse weather conditions.

In the Yasawas strong winds are also being experienced with very high seas.

Yasawa Resort and Spa said their guests are well and secured as they continue to enjoy their holidays.
