A youth group in Nabukadogo village in Macuata is making a difference to the development of their community.
20-year-old Isikeli Dovibua who is a participant at a youth forum underway organized by NGO Live and Learn said his peers before would engage in criminal activities like theft and harassment however they are now engaging themselves in useful activities in community work.
He said some of the projects they are carrying out include the setting up of their own canteen and water tanks for clean water in the community.
Meanwhile, a youth representative from Korokadi village in Bua Sableen Chand has shared at the Forum that transportation was an issue they had faced in their community, however that changed after his youth group had arranged for two carriers to transport students to school.
Chand said unemployment of youth, no electricity and poor infrastructure are issues they currently face and hopes will be addressed soon.
The youths gathering at the Forum are expected to make a submission to the Constitution commission.
