The Agriculture sector has contributed more to the country's economy compared to the sugar industry.
This is according to Agriculture Ministry's Director for Crop Extension, Uraia Waibuta who said the contribution is mostly from the exports of crops such as dalo, cassava, ginger, fruit and vegetables.
An increase of about $15 million was given to the ministry for this year.
The rice development programme received an increased allocation of $600,000.
