The battle for the final 12 spots in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team for the next World Series leg will be interesting as some key players are still injured.
Pio Tuwai, Samu Saqiwa, Osea Kolinisau and Benito Masilevu were rested for the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s last weekend while Viliame Mata and Henry Seniloli have not been included in the squad for the next leg.
With Waisea Nacuqu, Setefano Cakau, Jasa Veremalua, Apisai Domolailai and Joeli Lutumailagi returning to the squad, competition for the next leg will be tough.
Newcomers Setefano Rasekaia and Jerry Tuwai have a chance to make their debut for Fiji as Henry Seniloli is out.
Coach Ben Ryan said he will make the final decision this week regarding the final team and he is also impressed with Cakau and Lutumailagi.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s squad marches into camp this Wednesday and the final 12 member team will be named on Friday.
Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France and USA for the Japan 7s which will be held next Saturday and Sunday.
