Bus drivers have been warned not to allow passengers to stand in the front compartment of the bus, near the door as it is dangerous.

This is the statement from the President of Fiji Bus Operators Association Virendra Kewal when Fijivillage questioned him on the issue about overloaded buses especially in the peak hours where passengers have been seen standing on the door steps of the buses.

We also asked Kewel if bus operators can provide supplementary buses when one bus cannot accommodate all passengers in an area.

Kewel said they can do this but their drivers are not coming back with the correct details.
