Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has called on the officials at the Australia and New Zealand High Commissions in Fiji to get out of their offices and find out what is really happening on the ground in the country.

Commodore Bainimarama said he is concerned that misleading information is being fed by the officials of the two High Commissions to their governments.

He questioned what is worsening on the ground in Fiji as stated by the NZ Foreign Minister Murray McCully and Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith after the Pacific Islands Forum Ministerial Contact Group meeting in Auckland on Monday.

Bainimarama said he has visited a number of provinces around the country and the feedback he is getting is that people are happy with the government's focus on infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, health and education.
