The construction work on the four lane road outside the Nadi Airport worth $65.9 million starts from today.
The four lane road upgrade along Queens Road from Nasoso road through Votualevu roundabout to Wailoaloa road has been awarded to Higgins.
The project once completed will see a four lane upgraded road with improved road drainage, footpaths, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, bus stops and bus shelters.
The Fiji Roads Authority has advised road users that there will be changes to the way traffic operates in the area and is anticipated to be in place at this location up to the end of March next year.
The traffic lane will be reduced to two lanes only.
There will be one lane going towards Nadi and one going towards Lautoka.
The reduction to two lanes will be along Queens road starting just before the Trans International Hotel and ending opposite the Tokatoka Hotel.
A similar reduction of lanes will be to the Nadi Airport entrance road with one lane going in and one coming out.
