The Auditor General’s Reports from 2007 to 2013 have been tabled in parliament by Finance Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today however the media will get the reports to make it public on Monday.

The reports will highlight how tax dollars have been spent and the independent recommendations of the Auditor General.

All the reports will now be assessed by the Public Accounts Committee which should be chaired by the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa.

However Ro Teimumu has today confirmed that she has nominated opposition parliamentarian and NFP Leader, Biman Prasad to chair the Public Accounts Committee.

29 volumes of the Auditor General’s Reports were tabled today.

The Auditor General’s Office said the reports will be released by the Secretary General to Parliament on Monday.

Meanwhile the opposition is hoping that the Public Accounts Committee will be appointed soon.

Biman Prasad said the committee should begin its work as soon as possible.

Ro Teimumu Kepa said their next sitting is 21st November.

She is hoping that by that time the Speaker of Parliament will be able to make appointments so that the committee is able to start its work.

The Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni is expected to appoint the Public Accounts Committee.
