The driver of the minivan who fled the scene following a fatal accident in Viseisei Lautoka over the weekend has been arrested.
Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said the suspect was arrested in Suva and is now being escorted back to the Lautoka Police Station.
Naisoro added that the woman who lost her life in the accident is still to be identified.
According to Police, the minibus which was heading to Lautoka overturned three times and came to a stop after hitting the railing of a bridge.
The woman was rushed to the Lautoka Hospital but died on Saturday afternoon.
Three other passengers were treated for injuries and later sent home.
Police are appealing for information that could help identify the victim believed to be aged between 30 to 40 years who is only known to them as Salote.
The woman had boarded the minibus from Namaka Nadi.
